James in Crinan

I was in Crinan for a coffee and to enjoy the amazing light and location last Friday with my friend James. As soon as we saw the light hitting the boats (on a loch that James had fished when younger), we had to go to the waterside to enjoy the view. I had had my camera over my shoulder for half an hour by then and was able to indulge 5 minutes of photographing with James at his most relaxed.

The warm low light has saturated the colours beautifully, and the strong colour contrast between the blue of the water and James’s red hoodie and  striking hair colour, has made this portrait.
